The Filid is a collective of religious artists. Half performance, half audience participation, Filid shows are designed as ‘aesthetic interruptions’, hour-long stabs at opening the modern heart for contemplation.
The base elements of the Filid (which take different forms in different shows) are liturgical tradition, folk rock, oral storytelling, modern dance, videography, installation art, and shared silence.
The Filid recently returned from a month-long tour of the UK, during which they performed at Greenbelt, the Edinburgh Fringe, and a scrumptious variety of monastic communities. They’re currently touring across Canada (fall 2011), and will be touring the US in the new year. Keep your eyes on the skies! Or contact us for booking info (see below), and watch for updates on our shows page.
